How and with what do you make the cone collar so the pups dont scratch their heads anymore?Should I just get one from the vet?Are they expensive?I need really just one cause Charlie keeps scratching his head raw. What do I do?OMG I just called about the ecollar and it is 20.00 deposit!!I only need it for a while but I need to go get it or he will take forever to heal cause he keeps scratching..

I bought one in a pet shop but it was too short and Tasha could still lick her behind! The Vet made us one, free, from plastic with gauze straps so we have that should be need it. But a $20 deposit. That's steep!

Gigi had one when she was spayed. I am sure the vet charged me, but I don't remember how much it is. Can you "make" one with card board? :)

My Petsmart sells them... various sizes (and colors - for the stylish, fashion-conscious pup :D ). I don't remember prices, but you might check if you have one nearby.

Petsmart (http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=25343743 02023689&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302026151&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441780710&bmUID=1136564786862&itemNo=0&Ntt=e-collar&In=All&previousText=e-collar&N=2) has them for $8.99 and you can keep it! But if the vet is only charging you a deposit, I think that means it's free once you give it back? No??

Try this link. Scroll down half the page and it gives some good ideas. It ticks me off at how much the vets charge for those little things. Otto once had a dressing on his paw that lasted for 15 minutes at home. That dressing cost me $15 bucks! 15 bucks for 8 inches of streachy bandage and gause.

I got one from the Spay Neuter clinic for Scooter when I had him neutered. I think it cost me either $6 or $8. I noticed you are in San Antonio. The Spay Neuter Assistance Program used to have a mobile unit there that might sell you one. I'm not sure if they are still in operation.

I worked for SNAP at the Admin office here in Houston for about a year and a half and they do a great job! I'm glad they're still working in SA. I heard they were closing down the Native America project and I was hoping they would close down too many of the projects. SA is one of the areas that I always felt they were really needed.
