I took Pokey and Marta to the dog park yesterday. Pokey was actually much more social than usual, and less barky, too, which was nice. I didn't get as many shots as I had hoped, but here are a few that I liked.

Pokey in action:

Marta met a chocolate colored french pointer, named Phillipe. She's in love with him:

Here she is whipping up a dust storm while chasing a ball:

And here Pokey is at the end of our play time asking if we can go home. So sad, the Pokey:

Overall, it was a pretty fun time.

:awww: Oh dear DOG that last photo is sooooo cute. I just want to pick up the Pokester and carry him where ever he wants.

I miss seeing our dogfriends at the park back in VA so much! It was always a treat to see friends get together and play. Love the pics:hearts:

How old is Pokey? I just love the little grey muzzles of senior puppers! Marta is lovely. One professor at the university where I work has two retired greyhounds; Maybelline & Hero. I see them every day. I even stop the bus i'm driving; put on the 4-ways and talk to them for a minute! Love 'em!Really cute pics. you've taken!:hearts: :angel7: :hearts:

I just want to pick up the Pokester and carry him where ever he wants. Awww, me too! I would carry him around and snuggle with him all day if I could.

He is very much his mommie's boy, so when I ask him if he wants a lift he'll hunch his back and almost jump in my arms. Other times he'll be very independent and trot away completely miffed at the mere thought of being aided by a bi-pedular creature.

We got Pokey when he was 9 years old. He's a rescue from the Midwest Dachshund Rescue. (We used to live in Chicago.) He's about 15 now, and he's in great shape for his age.

I still remember the day he came to our house. We hadn't seen any pictures of him, and his white muzzle was a bit of a surprise! But once I looked into his sweet eyes, I knew he had to stay. He's just a great little guy.

Marta is actually a whippet, and she's about 9 years old. She was my brother's dog. He got her from a breeder when she was only a few months old. But a few years later he and his wife had kids, and Marta didn't get as much attention as she needed. So we took her in. She went through some adjustments learning to live with us, and vice-versa, but for the most part she's a lovable little goof-ball. She and Pokey get along very well.

Duchie says "Hey Good Looking where you been?!?!" and sends dainty kissies to BSP.

Glad to see Miss Hissyfit had herself a good time too.
