Our cousin's american bull dog, Shay, passed to the bridge this morning.
In the past couple of days, she dropped a good bit of weight and they took her in to the vet last night. This morning, they made the tough decision to help her to the bridge.
Shay was a bachelor's dog. She lived with two brothers who really loved her. She was great with men, but very protective of them too. I didn't interact with her too much when I would visit them because of this.
Going along with being a bachelor's dog, she did eat things that probably were not good for her. Her diet was that of a bachelor's lifestyle. They did everything else they were 'supposed' to do for her. Fed her, vetted her, LOVED her to pieces.
The vet last night said it was her kidneys. This morning, the vet said she was going into severe renal failure. She was 9 years old and had lived a very love filled life with them from the time she was a puppy.
Please light a candle for Shay and keep our two cousins in your thoughts while they mourn their girl.
