I thought I'd share some pics of my crew - both the doxies and the non-doxies. :)
First, here's Nellie, our 1st rescue dachshund. She's a 7 year old red brindle girl who was used as a breeder in a puppy mill in Nevada. Now she's a spoiled rotten princess who pretty much rules the roost.
Here she is right after she gave birth to her 4th and last litter, and right before we adopted her.

And in her 1st bath with us...poor girl!!

Blue was our 2nd rescue dachshund. He was a black and tan double dapple who was born deaf and has some vision problems, among a host of other health issues. He went to the Bridge last November after rupturing part of a valve in his heart...we still miss him terribly. :sosad:

Percy is the newest addition to our family. He's a 9 month old chocolate and tan piebald who was turned into rescue after his family bought him at a mall pet store and then decided a few months later that they'd rather have an English Bulldog. They kept him crated pretty much 24/7 and he actually had to have some teeth extracted due to them being broken off from him chewing on the wire bars of his crate. (Sorry about the crappy pic - Percy ATE the cord to the digicam so I only have a few pics on the computer)

And now the non-doxies. :D Since I do deaf dog rescue, and my husband had always wanted a big dog, we decided to go the complete opposite of doxies and adopt a deaf great dane. Drake is about 16 months old now and 130 lbs or so, and is not yet done growing.

When Drake got to be about 8 months old, he was WAY too big to be playing with the doxies, so we looked into adopting another larger dog to be his buddy. Raisin is 6 days older than Drake and you'd think they were littermates - they sleep on top of each other and are pretty much inseparable.

So that's our herd, minus the cats. I need to hunt down the disks that have their photos on them and upload them somewhere so they get their 15 minutes of e-fame as well. :D
