Fun Mailbox

I drive past this mailbox almost every day, and almost every day I say to myself "Hmmm, I should probably take a picture and share that." Well, today I did. Go me.

That is SOOOO cool. Alas, if we had it, someone would feel compelled to whap it with a baseball bat as they drove by. That's a hobby around here it seems. And if that doesn't get you, the snowplow does!
We have the ugliest mailbox in the world but I know if we get a new one, it will get whapped or smashed flat.

I love it! However...why is it mounted on top of the post instead of on the extension where you'd normally mount a mailbox? :scratch:
