Todd is just devastated...she was his baby girl and he really doted on her. Terribly hard, but she was having seizures and finally went into congestive heart failure. We did not want her to suffer. Damn, it is just so hard though...

I just went back and re-read that beautiful story Todd wrote about the rescue of Waif, Snuf and Daisy. You are both :angel: and I hope your broken hearts are soon healed with warm memories of little Waif. :hearts: :hearts:

Dear Laura and Todd, I am truly sorry for your loss of Waif. She had such a tragic life before she found you both. Even though she was with you for only a short time she was able to leave this world knowing a gentle touch, a soft bed, compassion and love.

Oh, Laura, I'm in tears here...she was a such a lucky, sweet little girl. I totally fell in love with Todd when you told us the story of how he just couldn't leave them there. She knew such love, and a great life after she came to you two :angel7:

I couldn't have said it better, from the time I read the first post about Todd bring the whole group home I knew you were both angels on earth !!!! I know your hearts hurt right now, but please find peace in the knowledge that y'all gave her love and care always including her trip to the Bridge.

I'm sorry to hear about you're loss and I can only imagine the difficult decision that you had to make.

Although Waif was with you for a short period of time, you made her have the best time of her life and she got to experience true love. She might have crossed the bridge but she is with us in our minds and hearts here at the DLC.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Laura. But I must agree that saving her and the other two grannies was a kind and noble act that made her last months on earth far, far happier than most doggies ever experience.

Well...all I have to say is mission accomplished. You all did not want her to die a horrible painful death in the shelter and definitely lived better in her short time with you than she did in her previous years.

What about her sister? How is she doing?

Her sister is doing well, though she does not let Todd out of her sight! Herman is going to meet with the surgeon next week. While the steroids helped, he is not back to normal, he wobbles and his back sticks up. Clark is doing well after this first round of surgery and is on the list for a total elbow replacement.

I still love my elderly dogs and would never hesitate to continue to adopt seniors.
