We had another awesome agility weekend (well, Fri-Sat)!
A new judge we hadn't had before and she was nice and her courses were fun and challenging.
Laika did the teeter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got three Standard Q's and three others although we did not get Jackpot, which we need for her C-ATCH 2. So now we just need two Jackpots....gotta decide what trials to enter... She went 6 out of 8 so came home with many more ribbons than last time :)
Owen got 7 out of 8! He was fast and so very cute...people comment on his wildly wagging tail while he runs. Also were cracking up over the way he leaps INTO the tunnels and up the a-frame-he is so strong in the rear he kinda gathers himself and leaps so cutely but I guess it looks really funny from the back.
Salsalita was the star I think...she q'd TEN out of TEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
And her jackpot run.... she was the only one of my dogs to qualify in jackpot and her run was so picture-perfect (wish I HAD a picture!!!! Wish I had VIDEO of that run...). Jackpot is complicated to explain but there is an opening and a closing (opening is 40 seconds and closing is 20 seconds for little dogs) and you run and do obstacles for points in the opening, then a buzzers sounds and you do obstacles for points with the handler having to stay behind a taped line and the dog has to work at a distance from you. Owen barked at me and tap-danced wildly in place instead of going out to do the obstacles but Salsa...she just ran out and did it and it was so perfect. She needed 40 points to qualify in level 4. She ended up with 62 and the only dogs that got more than that were a very fast border collie (a beautiful red merle named Isabella...I love that dog..) and this insanely driven malinois, Terry (another gorgeous dog but so fast it is NUTS). I couldn't believe it. Little Salsa...
We had so much fun. I got really tired though...I gotta unpack today and get some yardwork done cuz it's gonna be 60 degrees today, hurray!
I even took the ribbon pics already!
And here are some more by Ray Dutton, a photographer whp was there friday.
