View Full Version : NDR, but still cute- a mural my students and I painted

My students in the afterschool program and I are painting murals inspired by the artist, Keith Haring, on the walls of our bathrooms at school. We are hoping to deter graffiti with the project.

I will be soooooo angry if someone writes on this mural- you have no idea. So far, so good, though, and it's been a week.

(we had a child-free day today to get some work done- you can tell because I'm on here instead of working- hee hee hee!)

That is awesome! How old are your students?

5th- 8th grade, so like ages 10-14 or so. :D

It's fun for the kids to be able to do this kind of stuff and I hope the others respect it. :)

That is great! We had a city wide project soewhat simliar when the summer olympics came to Atlanta. They took a wall that wa a couple of city blocks long and painted the neated olmypic scenes on it. Weird thing - the grafitti artists did show up but they actually added to it in a nice way!! Hopefuly, your kids will honor this great work!

We did that in our school! It seems that when the students participate, they respect it more! I say the vandalisum will stop!
