Well, today was unlike any other earthdog day. Here in MA, we've had rain literally for days. Friday was nice, so I wasn't expecting the conditions at the trial. It was soaking wet. I am talking puddles in the tunnels.
Reese was first in Intro. Wasn't having any part of going through the tunnel that had a PUDDLE outside of it. Just wasn't having it. Spent his time whining, standing outside the front of the tunnel...as if to say, MA, I know they are this way, but there is no way I am going through THAT...
Bailey on the otherhand could have cared less about the water and went right in, and Qualified again in Intro.

Then it was on to Junior. Reese was first and Qualified again in Junior. You only need 2 Q's in Junior for a title, BUT, under different judges, so today was just a warm up for him. Never the less, he made his way through the mud and Q'd! I was thinking that he was never going to go into the tunnel after his display over in IQ.

Bailey also ran Junior and unfortunately didn't Q, but had fun in the mud. He took a little too long to get to the rat. We heard his splish splashing around in the tunnel, trying to make his way around the turn. To those who know earthdog, this tunnel was set up the opposite way we normally run, so, I think he got confused and the water didn't help the scent trail...

All in all it was a good day, considering the circumstances/conditions. I hope the Junior tunnel dries out a bit for tomorrow!
