I know it may seem stupid, but I am pretty upset that two of my little hermit crabs died. Spartacus died in his shell a week ago, and Stelios molted, and would not bury himself, so he died today. I was bawling because he was sitting in his little water dish, out of his shell, moving back and forth, and all the books say not to touch them when they are molting, so I was helpless, and he died.

I know, some people will say they are just crabs and they don't love on you the way dogs and cats do, but I loved them in their own little way.

Leonidas is still alive and kicking, but I am sad for him to have to be alone, because hermit crabs are social.

So.. please light a :candle: for my little hermie Spartans.

I am so very sorry for your loss Mitch-elly :hug99:

I will lite a candle for Spartacus :candle: & Stelios :candle: so they can find there way to Hermie crab bridge.

Losing a pet of any kind is sad. Please don't feel stupid :hug99:
Hopefully, you can find a good companion for Leonidas.

I'd love to see pics!

I have always had hermit crabs. They're interesting little critters. I am so sorry for Spartacus and Stelios. I always hated molting time 'cause no matter how many shapes and sizes in shells you give them there was always someone who didn't like any of them :candle:for Spartacus and :candle: for Stelios.:sosad:

AWWW...I'm sorry. I love hermit crabs and I am sorry for your loss :(
Perhaps you can pick out a couple of friends for Leonidas...?
Don't be pinching anyone at the bridge, lil crabs!

Michele, I am so sorry to hear that Spartacus and Stelios have passed. :candle: I had hermit crabs as a kid and mourned their loss as I did all of my other pets. Frogs, toads, turtles, snakes, they were all part of my family and their loss left a void. :hug99: :hug99:

Furred or shelled (or not...), they're all our kids and we love them. Nothing stupid in this (I used to bawl whenever one of my brother's fish died, which was on average about one every two days....). A :candle2: has been lit here for your little guys...godspeed, until you all meet up again! :hug99::hug99:
