As something special to eat, other then the medallions...what would you suggest? We are officially on RAW now, but only the medallions so far.

Bailey is getting 6oz a day and Reese is geting 5oz split between 2 meals a day.

I thought about a chicken wing or leg, but I am nervous about the bones.

I give Casey and Sophie chicken wings, chicken thighs, anything chicken, marrow bones and soup bones. Don't worry about the chicken bones, they do digest them.

Courtney would be the best person to tell you what to give them.

Yep, I give pretty much the same as Janet in the summertime. They are going to :love5: you (okay, I know they already love you)...but they'll be thankful.

I'm doing kibble in the moring, the patties/medallions at night - am still looking for a cheap source of raw meat for 8 dogs! Courtney - the RAW digest is overwhelming!! but I get tons of great info!

Yes, I would try chicken thighs or breasts! Wings and necks are a little too small and bony. You can remove the skin or leave it on. If one of yours has a more sensitive tummy you will want to remove the skin at first...as they eat it more, you can leave it on.

How do I know how much to give?

Should that be their whole meal for the entire day?

Great to hear Sandi! Have you found a co-op or anything in your area? Try this link: http://dogaware.com.hosting.domaindirect.com/dogfeeding.html#co-ops

I give them each a chicken wing or thigh or a beef rib bone when I want give them a treat (or sometimes when I run out of pre-mix). They love it. Mine don't have sensitive tummies so I don't remove the skin.

They are smaller right? Like 12 lbs or so? A thigh or breast should be good for the day's meal if so. If the thighs are a bit smaller, maybe feed two. The guideline is 2%-3% of the dog's weight per day.

A chicken thigh

I have started giving my furkids chicken thighs w/bone. Sassy does not get the skin but the rest do. No issues and they love them.

I think so. he ate the raw on his own doing last night. in his bowl I put a little A/D, a little wellness wet and then a bit of raw medallion. He picked the mediallion and left the other food.
