I made a mistake that cost my beautiful big cat his life and I am grief and guilt stricken. My standard boy Yogi, is cat agressive and has gone after my cats before... I always keep Spot & Buddy, the cats, locked safe in my bedroom. I was distracted last night and after I cleaned the litter box I didn't pull the door hard enough and the latch didn't set...I went to the grocery and the dogs got in and attacked Spot, Buddy was able to get high where he was safe, thank God. I've had Spot 10 years since he was a tiny orphan. I bottle fed him...he was the sweetest biggest cat... I really loved him ...he watched me get dressed in the mornings and I so missed him this morning. I am heartsick....

Yeah, it will take a while to get over, but you've got to believe us when we say that accidents happen. Sometimes stuff that's not so bad happens, and then bad stuff happens too. All you can do is go on, day by day, knowing you did the best you could for those you loved. You gave a kitten who should've passed when he was a baby 10 full years. This is not your fault. Leaving a door open is not an invite for tragedy. It just was his day to go. I'm so sorry you're hurting from the loss, but try not to remember how he died, but how he lived and the love you shared.:hug99:

I'm so sorry. I have made the same mistake and felt the same guilt and understand how you feel. But it WAS a mistake and Spot knew how very much you loved him and always will. :hug99: for you and a candle being lit for your sweet baby.:hearts:

Oh honey - Stinker needed a kitty to keep her coming learning the ways of the bridge. You didn't do anything wrong. A mistake is a mistake not a deliberate act. Here's peace for your heart...
