I can't believe this. He fixed up Sofie when her sutures from spay came apart. He was a great doctor.

This was posted there, and was so beautifully put, I thought I'd copy it here:

I've started to try to write something several times here, stopped, and started over. Probably the best thing is to just say what I said in an email to others who knew and loved Dr. Nic: Though all of us will miss him terribly, we can take comfort in the knowledge that for the first time ever, Nic will be able to look around at all the animals and not feel that weight on his shoulders... that sense of responsibility to ease their pain or end their suffering. Finally his love of animals can be nothing but pure joy.Goodbye, Dr. Nic; you've more than earned your respite.

That literally brought chills to me... so senseless, such a huge loss, so sad. And the piece that Andrea posted brought tears to my eyes. Godspeed Dr. Nick - may you find peace and joy.

:candle3: He's with his wife now, but how traumatic for his son.
That comment Andrea posted is so wise and insighful. He will not be alone. He sounded quite special and loved.

That's horrible. I hope his son is doing ok. I know how it is loosing a parent at a young age, it's exteremly hard to deal with, I can't imagin loosing two.
