View Full Version : Sunday Agility (pics too)

Well, we did it. Went to our first agility trial since Laika's injury. So many of my friends wanted us to go..people wanted to see Laika and see how she is doing and strangely, ROB thought we should go. I think my meltdown last weekend made him think I should do something I like to do.'
So, although I didn't really feel that much like it, we got up at 4 am and went :)
I took Laika's wire crate where she has been staying and she was very good in there. I was worried she'd get excited and jump around and have a fit but she didn't (helped by two marrow bones) She enjoyed seeing our friends and getting a lot of belly rubs and people were thrilled with how great she looks and moves.
Owen and Salsa were so excited to be running again. Owen was THE SILLIEST dog ever. He was soooo fast and soooo happy-his silly tail wagging like crazy and his ears flying. I saw the judge just crack up more than once. He was so excited he was barking at me on the course. He did get so excited he knocked some bars so qualified in 3 of the 5 runs. All first places. It was so very very wonderful to see him like that, because he wasn't wanting to run much all summer and I had only entered him in one or two runs a day since the spring.
And Salsa...she was amazing. I decided to enter her in level "C" (championship) since she got her c-atch. It's the same courses and times as Level 5, but you can't have any faults (you can get 5 faults of some sorts in level 5) In level "C" you are working toward your C-ATE (CPE Agilty Team Extraordinaire). It's like a gazillion points but I thought what the heck..she's only 3...and you get pretty rainbow qualifying ribbons.
She was awesome. Qualifed in five out of five and now we have five prety rainbow ribbons. I was so proud.
It was a good time. I was worried about Laika a lot so I felt sick sometimes but she was fine and today is very very happy and I think it was good for her to get out. Agility isn't quite the same for me without Laika running but she doesn't seem to mind as long as she gets treats and attention.
Here's Salsa with her pretty ribbons
handsome Owen and his
Some outtakes
Salsa had to butt in on Owen's pic
Oh- and I won a pretty bed in the worker's raffle. Laika loves it :) :) :)
