I'm reposting this in its own thread, because it was hidden in my thread about Rigby's schooling and I think it needs to be on its own so more members can read it.

It really helped me understand Rigby's social issues, and I've even realized now that the dogs she was growling at in class were both under a year old- both were puppies- and her growling was teaching them not to be so rude. I get it now. :)

If you have a defensive dog, please read this article. Thanks for the link, Amy!

I really love that article... I sent it to my sister who was just MORTIFIED that her formerly friendly dog had developed a vendetta against golden retrievers...so much so that she felt she couldn't take him to the dog park. It turned out he had been knocked down and stepped on by two ill-mannered goldens in the park the previous week. So who could blame him????
Made her feel better and understand his behavior.

What a great article! I wish I could hand it out at the dog park. So many people freak out when a dog tells another one to "eff off" when they get rude.

THat is a great article. I have a Bella story that can partly relate. Bella travels between two households - here and Niceville. While in Niceville, she is downright vicious (have to lock her in her crate) when a little neighbor boy comes over. They always know when he is in their yard, because Bella will run to the glass and just become unbelievably irate. I did not believe this story until I witnessed it first hand. I was amazed because she is great with my two kids (3 and 8) and all of the other family kids. However, with this little boy, she turns into something very scary (no joking). They found out through another neighbor's child that this little boy would jump the fence seperating the two yards and grab Bella by the tail and antagonize her. The parents  blew it off as 'kids being kids' (can you say serial killer possibilities?) but the family still allows him over  . Anyway, Bella has a true hatred for this kid. And I don't blame her.
