Alex's Mom

Suzanne, who owns the barn where Dax is, lost her best friend, her Golden Lexus. He's been sick for a while, and Laura diagnosed pancreatic cancer last week. But the speed with which he went down hill was distressing. Laura came out early this morning and helped him to the bridge.
Lex and Dax were NOT friends :) because he kept trying to steal Dax's feed while he was eating. But he and Jimmie were buddies, and he tolerated Jules' non-stop barking at him. And he was one of the few dogs (and a Golden, no less) that Alex tolerated at the end of her life. It seems fitting that he died today, because it's Alex's birthday. She, and his best horse buddy Zak, will be waiting for him at the bridge. We'll sure miss his smiling face around there, but I know he's still smiling at us, just from a bit of a distance. Suzanne is really grieving, as are we all. Godspeed, sweet boy :candle2:
