My granddad

My grandfather on maternal side died last night. I lived with my grandparents until I was 3 because my parents were poor students living in a tiny studio with a shower out in a hallway. I spent my every school break with my grandparents and couldn't wait to go see them all the time.

Can this year get any worse than what I am already going through?

I'm sorry Olga. The only positive I can say is that you were very lucky to share in his love. I never knew my Maternal grandfather and my Paternal grandfather who I adored died when I was 9.

Even though he is physically gone, he will always be a part of you. It's okay to cry and grieve and mourn the loss. But don't forget to smile and be thankful for all the love and memories he imprinted on your heart.

:ditto: Lisa. Remember all the times you got to spend with him. I only ever knew one of my grandparents. My maternal grandfather died right before I was born and paternal grandfather died when I was about 2. I don't remember him at all. We moved away from my paternal grandmother and she didn't travel. Since my mother refused to go back there, I never knew her either. Focus on your gratitude for the time you had with him.

I am sooo sorry for your loss. I was very blessed to have know 4 grandparents growing up. There isn't a day that goes by that their love doesn;t cross my mind and make me smile. :candle3: :bighug:
