I wrote this all out including the pictures and lost it all when my modem dropped the internet connection. Arghhhhhh! :curse:

Well, let’s try it again.

I stopped to visit with Brooke, Barkley, Jake and Oscar (hers) last week in Goodview Virginia. We had a great visit ... after a rocky start. Or should I say a soft, damp front lawn?

I didn’t communicate well enough with Brooke about the “parking area” in her driveway and ended “parking” my 32’ motorhome on her front lawn! One foot into the mud! At a 45 degree angle! I was TERRIFIED! :scared1: I don’t think I could have done a worse job intentionally. Brooke has pictures of this since I was pre-occupied with the behemoth getting ready to roll down the hill sideways!
I called my Good Sam roadside assistance help line and they sent a heavy duty tow truck to pull the rv out. It was badly stuck. The driver had me sit in the motorhome and steer as he pulled us out. I could feel the vehicle slide sideways toward a tree during the process. MORE TERRIFIED! It felt like hydroplaning on a wet roadway.

After we got it out I moved the rv to a local state park (where I should have taken it in the first place) and spent the weekend parked there. Brooke and I visited with each other, did some sightseeing at the lake nearby, and hit a couple of quilting stores. Including an Amish one that was very interesting. Thank you Brooke for being such a fun, nice host!

Well, something interesting came out of this whole rv in the front yard fiasco. I was so busy (hyperventilating) dealing with the rv that I just tossed the zoo crew out and told er asked Brooke to keep an eye on them. Without my help/interference they all met and got along well (well enough for Rikka!). Maybe I have been more hindrance than help.

So here are some pics mostly taken after the motorhome move.

Mom, I am NOT climbing these stairs.

I said I am NOT climbing these stairs!

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y191/doxyzoo/Trip_2008-2009/6_Virginia/Brooke/P4040007_1.gif

So I carried her up the stairs! Too tired to fight with her at that point.

Trying to get all five dogs to pose at the same time through the deck railings was like trying to nail jello to a wall.

I will wait for you, Mom.

Still waiting … Quite patiently for her. :toetap:

Mom he’s touching me …

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y191/doxyzoo/Trip_2008-2009/6_Virginia/Brooke/P4040017.gif

She gave the boys such a hard time about sniffing her butt! She would curl her lip and snarl and they would back off REAL quick … Except for Barkley. He’s not the brightest bulb in the pack.

Barkley hiding under my chair. I guess I was his protector.

Brooke with all five. Sorry it is a little out of focus. I had to get the camera out fast since they were all moving all over the place.

Most of the pictures of her pups were butt pics. They were always paying attention to her and wouldn’t turn toward the camera.

It was so nice out on her deck that evening! Needed the rest at that point.

I'm from Oregon, and have lots of family there and Washington. I will be back there by late summer and then heading south for the winter in the fall (probably). I have a friend in Lake Havasu City which isn't very far from you. I'll add you to the "meetup" schedule if you would like?

OHHH Yehhhh. The power, water and sewer were all fixed, so I didn't consider them real problems. Also, the guys setting it all up really didn't know how to do it well for an rv. All of you should have asked me for advice first, since I have been in many, many rv parks in the last year.

The neighbors SHOULD have been fixed before they were able to procreate 'cause they passed some seriously STOOPID genes along to their offspring! And yeh, I wondered if that was just a "southern" thing about being told to bring my own meat to an invited BBQ. To go on the grill with their $10 each fat steaks! Thank goodness you and PJ set me straight!

Terrific pics!!! :cheer3: Looks like it was a wonderful time despite the scary start....I give you lots of credit for driving an RV...I'm scary enough of a driver in just a regular vehicle. :rotfl:

I got LOTS of pics of the RV:rotfl: and will post as soon as the stupid photosite will let me and company goes away ( got more here DAH's school friend and family but I like them and the boys like them too).
I think I look fat in those pics:sosad: , but I know I look better in person:rotfl: . Oscar( ellen's) and Barkly played and played and then my Oscar would join in some too. But Jake and Rikka were like the parents and just watched the "kiddies" play and protected their respective moms :duh: .
Ellen got to have country style steak and gravy and mashed taters and she hadnt had the country style steak and gravy and I was so happy she liked it. I have not had to do much cooking the past two months so I was aa bit rusty :rotfl: .
All the fur kids got along great and I was SO proud of my boys as we have been out of the "social circle" for a few months but they were great and Ellen's Oscar came right to me and Ellen had to grab Rikka and hand her over so we could go up on the deck and keep them away from the tilting RV. Then she was "fine" with me, but its as if she tolerates others and isnt really happy till she is with Ellen. But I got kisses from them both, but more from my snuggle buddy Oscar( ellen's).
I am so glad she got to visit here, and the couple at the state park impressed her with our southern hospitality:cheer3: . I knew that she would love the 2 stores which is why I took her to them, and she can attest I live in a teensy county out in the boonies.
I will post pics hopefully Monday as I took LOTS of the RV, Ellen, the tow truck guy as well as all the fur kids.
I so enjoyed visiting again with you Ellen and my door is always open to you and the pups :hug99:

BUT NOT THE FRONT LAWN!!! :rotfl:

I should have loaned you (my) Oscar while we were there for overnight snuggle party.

Boy do you have Rikka's attitude pegged! All she wants is me ... and that's all I ask of her. She lives in the middle of my heart. And Oscar makes me laugh.

Your pups were so friendly and welcoming (especially all that barking while I was down with the rv). And YOU TOO! We had a great visit. :hug99:

Heck, if you get a chance to, when you hit Oregon, stop by here! We're just about 30 miles south of Portland. My Bridgette could use a few lessons on inter doggie communication. The only one she has met that is not from her family is my mother in law's. She has a doxie chihuahua mix. It was suppose to be a mini doxie, turned out to be a maxi doxie. That poor dog has chihuahua head and feet with a disturbingly over fed full sized doxie body. I feel bad for the girl, she is only a couple of years old and has trouble getting around she is so huge.

Anyway, feel free to stop by! We'd love to meet you and your family of fur!

Fish at the place ont he lake where we ate lunch. They are carp and some ducks in there and snakes as well. All the visitors and kids feed them so they stay around all year.

Once I get more then I will keep on posting. I got some funny ones of Ellen and the tow truck driver and a better picture of just how tilted the RV was.

Great pics of everyone. I'm glad your RV is okay, that was scary and really an awful situation to be in. You are a brave lady, I don't think I would have been able to sit and steer while they tow driver pulled me out.

You're having quite an adventure through the states. I look forward to your stories and pictures.

I think I would have learned a few new words, and not good ones in polite company, lol, if that had been my rv dangling there. Talk about heartstopping! Glad the rest of the trip went well.
