View Full Version : Pippit and Accidents
Pippit doesn't usually have accidents. Once in a great while(like when it's raining and he won't go outside), he'll poop but never pee. Well, Friday night he got up at 5am and peed(so unlike him~he has NEVER gotten up in the middle of the night to go potty) And then today I found(he cleverly hid them) 2 dried pee accidents(thankfully on the easily bleached white tile floor under the bed):scared1:
Is he protesting the addition of Paddington? Should I be concerned that something else is up? What should I do? Thanks!
Oh~I should say that the potty schedule hasn't changed at all.

It could be a protest (my house!! my house!! and I've marked it just in case anyone has any doubt about that fact!! :rotfl: ), but it could also be a bladder infection. Is he drinking more than usual? Maybe a quick visit to the vet might be in order...?

I agree with Paula, it could be both. Protesting and/or a bladder infection. What does his urine look and smell like?

IMO.......Pippit is Protesting!!!!!! He used to be the only one fussed over....now......Paddington is getting some attention.
I could be wrong......But I really think that is the answer.
I know you share your time with Pippit and Paddington, he will just have to learn to share Mommie.
Does Pippit get jealous when you hold or play with Paddington? Does he cry for more attention?
I guess Pippit just needs to know that he is #1!
ITA. You should rule out the medical first...then it may just be sibling rivalry!

My first thought was he's marking cuz a new animal is in the house. But it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out at the vet, since he got up in the night to go..
If it's been a lot colder there, maybe the house is more dry and he's drinking more??

I'm sure he is protesting.
My only concern would be the two dried up patches you found. Not sure if those were there after paddy showed up or before........

Could be either one. In my house, I know when I bring a new foster or permanent dog in that the floors are going to suffer. Miller the Peemeister always has to mark his territory to be sure that the new pups know it's his.
Great advice given, let us know what the vet says. :)
I'm going to call my vet tomorrow. As for what's happening right now~nothing unusual. Pippit hasn't had any more accidents and hasn't being going more than usual. I do have the heat up higher since it's been so cold and he has been drinking more. So personally, I think it's his way of showing who is #1 and drinking more. But, we'll see what the Doc says.
