RIP Lois Lou 1997-2009

None of us saw this coming...Sweet Lois, died this morning of an unknown cause, but a suspected stroke. Violeta and I had just headed out the door to take her, Clark and Daisy for a walk. We had not gotten very far when I turned around and found Lois on the ground. She died shortly after arriving at the vet's office. We will miss her, her life and happiness were made up of such simple things. A swim, a walk, a treat, a brushing, a kind word. So sad.

It's not easy to lose them in any way, sudden or expected. But know this: Lois lived a life loved by more than just you and those who could pat her head or accept a lick kiss. Through your stories, she shall live on in all of our hearts. Thank you for sharing her. Every life must end at some time; it's always too soon. Hers was a life filled with your caring compassion, and your heart may be heavy every time you miss that nose nudging the way big dogs like her have a way of doing, but it will ease. Remember the things that made you happy she was in your life, and she will be happy. That's all dogs want for us: for us to be as happy as they are. That's why it hurts so much to lose them.

So weird. Last night I had a dream that I took Daisy to the vet and they lost her! Meaning they just did not know where she was. I was questioning the vet techs and in the dream, they never answered the question..."Where is Daisy". I think my brain is trying to reconcile all this. I was very happy to wake up and see her fluffy body next to my head! Whew!
