I was cleaning up on the deck and around the flower beds today. I saw Cash sitting out in the yard under the neighbors big tree. That's not unusual so I didn't think much of it.

After I got things cleaned up, I went out to talk to him with the thought that maybe I'd sit in the grass with him for a few minutes. NOT! When I got up to him he had a dead snake :faint:

I ran inside to get the camera and when I got back out he started heading for the back door with the snake  So I'm sorry the pics are so bad, but I was trying to get pics while keeping an eye on the doggie door so I could get there before he could take the snake in the house

Here he is with the snake

And the snake after I made him drop it.

I was surprised that he dropped it. I guess he's realized that having his treasure taken away is inevitable. I'm sure he'll be back out later looking for another one.

What a great hunter you are Cash but...ugh, I am terrified of snakes. I would be worried about the dog being bitten.

Oh I bet he was soooo happy. Laika kills snakes too..I hate that she does it but she gets them sooo fast and shakes them and that's that.
Good Job, Cash.

Many years ago I had a dog bitten by a snake. Her face got swollen up but it only lasted a few hours and she didn't even act like it bothered her.

Poor snake - yes, I love all reptiles. But what a great hunter Cash must be - the snakes I've seen in the wild have been FAST!
