Oh God...finally Todd let her go. He waited way too long. He just could not let this one go...we have had so many go to the bridge recently, as you all know. He cared for her and was so close to her that he just could not see what everyone around him could. Until last night. She was wailing and crying and in distress. He was up with her all night. He took her in this morning and she went easily and peacefully. I am not faulting Todd for this...I tried to get him to do it sooner but he just couldn't. Now he wishes he had. With each one, we learn a little bit more but these decisions are just so hard and complicated.

Anyway, I remember when we had the cataract surgery done for her and she could see again! It was an amazing transformation and she was a different dog. Happy, full of life and joy and that is how I choose to remember her.

Awwwwwwwww - I'm so sorry! It's so hard to let them go, even if it is in their best interests -- I know!! My deepest sympathies to all of you. I remember when she had her eye surgery - it was SO awesome, and she had a lot of joyful time being able to see again, which you guys gave her. She had all the best with you!!! And she is now in a place of pure love, I promise. :hug99:

I'm so sorry, Laura. It's always very difficult to make that dreaded decision. My husband also hand on to Tinha for way too long, until he finally saw that she was not a happy dog. Run free at the Bridge, Wheezer, your Mom and Dad :love9: you.

I'm so sorry, Laura. You and Todd have had way too much loss lately.

Sometimes it's very hard to let them go. But Wheezer is at peace now and you gave her the best home ever.

I am so sorry for both of you. This decision is never easy and takes great strength. You both have suffered so much loss in the past few months, he just wasn't ready to let another go. Ultimately he did the impossible and made the decision. Godspeed Wheezer :candle:

I remember when you posted about Todd coming home with Wheezer.

I also remember when you guys did one of the most amazing things, by providing such good care, and giving her the gift of sight with the cataract surgery.

She received the best care possible and I'm sure she appreciated it.

I'm sorry she couldn't be with us a bit longer, and feel for you and Todd.

It's never easy, regardless of how long we've loved them. Know in your heart she's OK now, and the gift she gave you in her difficult passing will make it easier for the others when their times come. She feels it was the least she could do after all you've done for her.

Oh Laura, you guys have had so much heartbreak lately. I'm so sorry...even when we know it's time, it doesn't make it any easier. Bless Todd for reacting as he did in the shelter that day. She knew so much love and giving her the gift of sight was beyond amazing. I know what Todd is feeling...I question every day if I let Alex go too long. but you can only make the decision when you're ready to make it. Many many many many :hug99: for the Wheezer sized hole in your hearts. Godspeed, little one, till you all meet again. :candle2:
