I bumped this before I read about Goosie leaving us. How about a few hugs for him as a tribute to the special boy he was/is/will always be....

Today the competition's judges announced the grand prize winner, Dr. Papidies who wins one million dollars on Thanksgiving Day 2009. The decision was obviously very difficult for the judges. Each of the top 12 dogs was extremely cute and had a great back story, a loving family and many thousands of supportive fans

I'm so glad he won (even though I didn't vote any more after the 12 weeks were over). His story is great as is his owner who is giving the money to animals in need. :appl:

Obviously the money for the contest is going for a good cause, but it looks like the contest was a publicity stunt.

How did I come to this conclusion?

- The dog that won was already featured on 9News an NBC Affiliate 3 months ago.
- During the news segment they feature the winners home, and it looks like a $6+ Million dollar home.
- Who can afford to win and give away a million dollars?
- No 2nd or 3rd prizes were offered.

In the end I guess the money will be going to a good cause, I just hate the fact that they made contestants feel like they would have a chance at winning a million dollars.

They could have given $1000 for 2nd winner and $500 for 3rd winner. That is what I would have done.

This is how I felt. Some dogs were getting 1,000's of votes. I tried so hard and had a lot of people voting very day for my Charlie but only got a few hundred. Some had to be cheating.

About the winner maybe they went on the news to promote voting for their dog right when the contest started ...

Why haven't they taken the site down if somebody won? I will miss seeing our guys every day. More pictures needed!
