There will be a Teacup Dogs Agility trial in November, and I am going to sign up. This is our 2nd time. Gigi has body exemption and can jump 4 inches if we want. And she normally just jump 8. Should I go for 4 inches or 8 inches???

I always go for the lower jump height. The only venue mine jump 8 in is USDAA cuz that is as low as it goes. Well NADAC...can't remember what our jump height is cuz we only did tunnelers. Although Gigi jumps high easily (as does Owen) I just feel that dachshunds aren't really built for it...and I want to do it for as long as possible. There is evidence that dogs jumping higher is actually better for them cuz it lets them use their legs as shock absorbers better but dachshunds don't have very much leg!!!!
That said, there aren't a lot of obstacles in teacup..courses are short and really close together and they don't have a jumpers course or anything so it prob. won't matter much. It's not like akc or usdaa where they are doing 15-18 jumps on a course.
I do a lot of CPE and both Owen and Salsa measure for 4 inches and it seems like they did for teacup also. I can't remember cuz their measuring method was confusing to me. I think if you take an exemption to jump 4 they still put you with the 8 inch dogs (for placements) or something like that.

Ok. I will go for 4 inches, if they let me. Not sure what Gigi thinks... lol.
I think NADAC has 4 inches? Don't know. I have only done AKC, NADAC and TDAA.
I think the TDAA obstacles are so funny and cute. And the course is so "small". I feel like I can just hop from one obstacle to the other (no running for me, yay. lol). I am excited though.
