View Full Version : Miller's Snuggle Sack

I found some really nice rust colored fleece in my sewing room and decided to make a snuggle sack for Miller. He sleeps in the sewing room when I'm working in there and is always curled up or trying to get underneath something so I thought a snuggle sack would be perfect.

I spent a couple hours making it for him and put it on the floor. He went over and laid on top of it :rolleyes: So I got treats and put them IN the snuggle sack. He did manage to figure out how to get in it then and slept in it for a short while.

But once he got out of it, this is what he did.

He doesn't seem to want to sleep inside of it :scratch: Cash also sleeps on top of it. I think next time I'll just make a nice pillow for them since they either don't want to sleep inside it or can't figure it out. :duh::duh::duh: After all, a pillow takes like 1/2 an hour to make and I spent over 2 HOURS making the snuggle sack. I think my dogs are ingrates.

Perhaps it's not cold enough for burrowing.

I don't think so. He burrows under the blankets in the sewing room all the time. :dunno:

Miller is the ice cube of dog-dom. He's under the covers if it's below 85

Too precious! Maybe he doesn't like burrowing on cue. The sack looks great. Love the fabric.

Gosh he's cute...
Laika did the same thing with the bag I made for her birthday a few years ago...she got right in it for pictures then has never ever snuggled in it again.
She does like to lay on it...

I tried that and he still just laid on top of it. I think I'm going to call it the Unsnuggle Sack :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The fabric was some of the many yards of fabric that I've bought and never made up. It went so well with the fleece that I decided to get some of it used up. I have WAY too much fabric.

That's probably true. I mean, they are dachshunds and do want to do whatever you don't want them to :rolleyes:

Amy made a really nice snuggle sack for Tasha - she lies on top of it every morning at breakfast as we keep it under the table. Number of times she's slept in it - - - - 0. But she loves it all the same. If I move it, she sits and stares until it is back where it belongs.

That is so funny! Mine hate it when I move one of the favorite sleeping spots.

I'm glad Miller isn't the only dog that doesn't sleep inside his snuggle sack. :sosad:

Very nice snuggle sack. Mine do the same thing with the ones I make for them. At first they will burrow in and then they use them to cover up with or lay on top of. Or drag all over the house - :rotfl:
