We had a really good time. I think the dogs did too. I was worried about my sister's new dog as he has had some issues (with people more than dogs) but he was just a doll..he has a quirky "suspicious" thing going but he really was great with my dogs and even when the rest of my midwest family was over, he was very very good. As were mine, of course :)
They went to the dog park every day...they really aren't dog park dogs...too many big rowdy dogs for Owen and Salsa and even Laika got scared a couple of times but mostly there weren't a lot there and we got to do a nice off leash walk Saturday morning..I left Salsa home with Rob (much to her EXTREME SADNESS) cuz as much as she is a REAL dog and I want her to be one, long grass, mud, rough ground, water, and cold are just too hard for her.
Prob. the cold more than anything. Laika and Owen had a great time there though.
Lots and lots and lots of food. My sister and her husband are kinda "foodies" and she grows organic and makes a LOT of home-made things. INcluding ice cream... she had pies she made (grew her own pumpkins..she's that kinda person) and berry cool dips and she made a big thanskgiving dinner so the dogs were in beg mode. Laika did get on the table at one point...
On a sadder note, Dyson, her old dog, really is on his last legs. Literally. He has a lot of trouble getting up. He's on pain meds often. He is quite senile. It's sad...he just turned 13 and that doesn't seem old enough to be that decrepit but I suppose, like people, dogs age differently. He's a pretty big dog (65 -70 pounds or so) and was always such an athletic, energetic dog. It's hard to see him like this (we haven't seen him in a few years so it's a sudden change for me). And man can he fart. O god.
But anyway, here are some pics. I didn't take any of Dyson.
Here's Jules. They don't know his breed. I say border collie/cattle dog but with something else (northern or spitzy) thrown in. He has a curly tail a lot of the time. Very leggy but he was neutered at 9 weeks and that can cause that sort of thing in males.
He and Owen played!

He wanted to play with Salsa in the worst way but she was a little too scared due to his size.

And Laika, the Fun Police, kept breaking up the action :(
Here they all are on Donn, my BIL

On Saturday my brother and his family and another of my sisters and her family came.
Here's O, sleeping on my niece Arianna. That's my youngest sister, Sara, in the pic, also. It's her house we were staying at.

Lovely Laika. She spent a lot of time looking pretty. When not plotting how to steal food. She also kinda enjoyed the dog park cuz she likes to chase dogs but she barks the whole time really loud and none of the other dogs were barking so it was kind of embarrassing and I'm nervous cuz of her back but I think she liked it.

That's it. It was fun. We went to the sushi buffet TWO TIMES. Sara has the same birthday as me (which is today but I forgot to put it on the calendar) so we were celebrating.
