Well, I spent a little while this evening "Trying" to get some holiday pictures of Edelweiss. I had this bright idea it would be cute for our family Christmas card. Needless to say tomorrow is a new day and I will try again.
I got a lot of butt shots as she ran after who knows what. A lot of up close shots of her nose. Side shots of her pretty chocolate coloring. But not one usable picture in the 30 something I took. I'm usually really good at getting cute Christmas pics. NOT with this constantly moving lil wiener!
But I did want to ask you all a question. I was looking through all the pictures I have taken of Edelweiss over the past week and in every one where a flash is used, her right eye glows a bright red, the left eye doesn't.
Her eyes appear to look normal and are the same color. I don't know, I've never seen this with my other two dogs. I mean just one eye being red, as their eyes both glow red when there is a flash used.
You think I'm just being a worry wart?
Here are a couple pics of what I am talking about.

And a lovely side shot. LOL She did have her paw up on the ball and was posing so pretty. That lasted about a 1/2 second!

She is super cute no matter what, but yeah, puppies are so hard to photograph.

They move so fast. :seeya:

The 3rd shot is Christmas Card worthy but all three are adorable. She is one cute little pup.

Have you tried shining a light in each of her eyes to test? Cute pictures, even if you are not using them...

She is just precious! I found the only way I could get good pics of puppies is if they are sleeping.....

She adorable! I understand what you are saying about the eyes, because I noticed that they were different, too. You will see some Internet links where an eye tumor was present in kids where one eye was red in pictures and the other reflected white. However, both your pups' eyes look like normal dog eyes in pics - just one showed the red reflection and one didn't. I am wondering if maybe her eyes are either different shades (one is darker and so is not reflecting as much light?), or one eye might be a little out of focus and so they are not looking in exactly the same direction (which could certainly fix itself with age since she is a very young puppy).

I'm not a vet, though - I'd have yours do an eye exam on her - easy way to relieve that concern :)

They are definitely hard to photograph, but she is a cutie pie no matter if she is looking at the camera or not! Good luck with the next photo shoot!

Edelweiss went to the vet this morning and we got a diagnoses on her having one red eye in pics. The eye that shines red in photos is normal as far as vision, shape and so on. Her iris though are two different colors and it's ever so slight that just to look at her you can't really tell. But when he shown the bright light from the optiscope into her eye you can see the difference in the coloring between the two eyes.
She got a clean bill of health, weighs 3.12 lbs and was a perfect angel. So her vet says. I love when she fools people like that because I think she is going to sprout horns any day! I really do!!! LOL

A super easy way to fix the eye in photos is this

Great, that makes sense. Such a cutie :)
