I wasn't thinking and left my food on the coffee table where Charlie could get it. He ate about 1/3 of a piece of cheese pizza; it was the crust part. Do you think he'll be okay? I managed to catch him but then let him go because I was afraid he was going to choke the way he was trying to gulp it down. He's in his crate right now. Help, please!

Cheese is ok, and if he doesn't have wheat allergies the crust should be ok. I'm not 100% sure on the tomato sauce, but as long as it wasn't much, I think he'll be ok. Were there onions on it?

Charlie should be fine. (Unless he is alergic to the ingredients.)

My furkids eats pizza at least once a week.

Bailey has eaten pizza before...he gets in to EVERYTHING! He should be fine, you may have some runny poopies later, but that's about it unless there are allergies like Jen said.

It was plain cheese, no onions. And he doesn't have any allergies.

Does he gulp down the crust? Their tummies are so small it doesn't even seem like the crust could fit in there!

The worse part is resisting the L@@K you're going to get next time you eat pizza because he now knows how yummy it is!!

He'll be fine, only worry about onions, everything else on pizza is not great for a consistant diet, but won't hurt him - except he might have some runny poop.

Lucky little guy!! Getting pizza for lunch.

If I willingly give him pizza crust (SHHHH!!!!!) I break up the crust. When he got it out of the trash he gulped it and was fine. Tummies are very elastic.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate hearing he's going to be okay. :relieved:

New house rule for Helen: No eating on the coffee table.

Otto has helped himself to an entire slice of Ham and Pineapple Papa John's pizza, on more than one occasion, with no ill effect other than taking a really HUGE poop.
Otto has, in the past, stolen 3 mini cream puffs in one bite, 1/2 HUGE cinnamon roll in one bite, and countless french fries, hamburgers, cheetos, doritos, peppermint candies, cat turds, Grrt turds, chicken bones, and gum with no ill effect.
I think you don't need to worry.

Mine LOVE pizza also - before Raw they got table food entirely TOO much - we know better now and I can withstand the worst L@@K and keep right on eating! He'll be fine! Just watch him - the enxt time the pizza man shows up - they'll be best buds!!:rotfl:

I wouldn't worry! Except as Linsey said, that he will now want it every time!

Even if there were onions, I seriously doubt that he would have any problems from that small amount one time. Speaking from the perspective of someone whose dog once ate her entire bag of Halloween candy... sticks, wrappers, and all.

One of my puppers ate an entire canolli ONCE. I don't think he even bit it, just swallowed! :rotfl: he was fine tho!

Cricket has eaten everything from candy, to gum to crayons. Other than the runs, he's done okay. He did get into peanut oil right after we got him. That was scary. I had drained it into a coffee can and put it on the back porch to cool. I forgot it was there and Cricket ate/drank almost 1/2 of it (it had cooled by then). He was horribly sick but recovered. We (humans) don't do THAT anymore.
