Honestly, there's still a very defined waist to her, and I'm betting she could stand to lose maybe just one pound. If you can feel her ribs under her fur, she's in good shape.

I really think she looks good. it's harder to tell with the long-hairs but she has a waist, looks like a bit of a tuck-up underneath...But you almost have to get your hands on them to really tell so like Otto's mom said, if you can easily feel her ribs, she should be fine.
Laika recently lost some weight (diet-I wanted her a little leaner for agility) and I could see a difference and she lost less than a pound. From 14.4 to 13.8.
BTW, I LOVE HER BELLY! what is it about those bellies????? I had to kiss Laika's...

Heidi is a pretty girl. :hearts: To me they look much better on the lean side. So agree with the others she needs to lose a pound or so. Actually you don't need to go by the pound but by the way she looks. Good luck and keep us updated.

I think she looks about like Angel... I would say she could lose just a little. She's DEFINITELY not fat, but I tend to agree with Patt that a little leaner is probably better.

Another thing I do with Angel is give smaller treats. We use Old Mother Hubbard treats - the small bones. Usually I break one in two and give her the bigger piece... but if I need to cut back I can break them in smaller pieces. That way she doesn't feel like she is on a "diet." :D

Thanks for all your thoughts, I too think Heidi could stand to loose a pound. I am going to start cutting back on the raw. She will now get 2 medallions the same as Princess and see how she does. I was giving her 3 according to the website suggestions. This was based on feeding 50% raw and 50% kibble. She does not eat too much Kibble anymore, so hopefully cutting back on 1 medallion should do it..

I think the only way to tell is if i come over there, and rub her belly and kiss it a few zillion times. oh, snuggling will be involved as well, but hey, enquiring minds NEED to know! :rotfl:
