Gunner is home. He was so cute when we got there to pick him up. The lady who has been taking care of him (Stacy) had us call when we were 30 mins away so she could be there when we picked him up. She had him in her arms when she came to the ER door and walked us back to talk to us. Gunner started shaking with excitment when he saw us. After Stacy told us how to care for Gunny she put him down on the floor to show us his walking ablity and he hobbled over to his crate. When we opened the door he went right in and got comfy. Mom covered him with a blanket and all you could see was his head. Stacy goes "he wants to go home thats for sure." :rotfl:

Total cost of surgery - $1,859.41 ... seeing those soulful brown eyes and bringing him home - priceless.

$1,859 is cheap. I paid $3,000 2 years ago for Sabrina's.

What a good deal on the surgery...Gunners was almost 6,000.

I agree that's a bargain price. I can't exactly remember but I think that Amanda's was like $3000 over 10 years ago.

I'm so glad the Gunny is home with you :hearts::hearts:

I was told a couple of years ago when Ruby was having back problems that K-State would run around $3,000 so I was shocked when I was given the $1,800 - 2,200 price range. One thing I think saved us on cost was that they only did a CT scan instead of the entire gamet of test they could have and then they only charge $30 per day. The most costly item was the CT scan which was right under $500. All I really know is that they took good care of our boy and he'll be walking and frog hunting this summer!

Tons of :bigrayz::bigrayz::bigrayz:. SO glad your boy is home. (And I think that's a bargain price too!)

He is going good. He actaully got excited to see me when I stopped by and wanted out of the crate.

The only thing is he isn't pooping. The pain meds are causing this so we're trying to figure out how to get him to go.

I have not personally tried this but have heard an ice cube lightly rubbed around his anus will help.

I know most people are a fan of food to get them to poop, but I am a big fan of increasing water to poop.

Maybe a little bran flakes and chicken broth? Definitely some pumpkin should help get him moving.

Thanks for the tips I'll pass them along to mom and see if we can't get him to go.

I'm glad your boy is home and doing well. Would pumpkin work as a stool softener and help him out?
