I just wanted to provide a little note on Pixel's progress. He has gone from 25% July 8th to 75% July 16th. I am a huge fan of acupuncture. It is after each session (the following morning) that we see a giant improvement. Because he has been through 3 straight weeks, the vet is switching him to Chinese herbs and is giving the acupuncture a break for a couple of weeks. The herbs are supposed to do the same thing as the acupuncture, just not as dramatically instantaneous.

So now Pixel uses his left leg with good foot placement about 75% of the time, he can do his bunny hop really well, and still drags his left leg about 25%, but I notice it is more at the end of his time out of the crate, so he may just be tired. He is still not passing the toe test on his left leg, which is kind of strange, but not a big deal.

He is still on 100% lock down and is only allowed out with sling support on potty breaks. But we are seeing daily improvement which is awesome.

We are going for our last 2 Adequan shots this week, before we switch to monthly maintenance.

Great update! I, too, am a big fan of acupuncture. It worked wonders on Jack when he was down.

:cheer3::cheer3::cheer3::cheer3: I"m so glad that Pix is doing so well. It sounds like the meds, crate rest and accupuncture is really working. I will defnintely try accupuncture if I have the need.

Today is the beginning of week 5 since starting the meds and he is doing awesome. He went from completely paralyzed in his left leg to passing the toe test with meds, crate rest, acupuncture, adequan and now chinese herbs.

This morning Rafi even commented we have to start leashing him because he is booting around and the sling support is no longer enough.

If anyone wants to know the herb blend he is on:
A2080 Bu Yang Huan Wu
Astragalus (Warm and tonify Qi)
Angelica (Nourish Blood)
Paoenia (Nourish Blood and Yin, soothe liver yang)
Earthworm (Break Blood Stagnation)
Ligusticum (Activate blood and relieve pain)
Carthamus (Break stasis and relieve pain)
Persica (Break stasis and relieve pain)

The blend is supposed to be for dogs with weakness after IVDD, sequelae of stroke, ataxia.
