First of all I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes sent to weenie and cricket! They got lots of treats(frosty paws, cake, pizza crust) and new kongs from their Daddy! Sadly, they also went to the vet where they got a butt squeezin and heartworm tests. :sosad:
The vet looked at the bump on Weenie's face while we were there and he is going to have to operate to remove it. Doctor says he thinks it's just a fatty deposit but he will send it for a lumpectomy(sp?) My poor little jelly bean! I am so worried for him. I'm going to schedule the surgery for next week. We sure could use some more of those rays!

Sending lots of rayz. :bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz: Years ago I had to have the same thing done to my Pebbles. As it turned out it was just a fatty deposit and she never had any more trouble with it. I hope Weenie's turns out this way, too!

Was Pebbles lump on her face? It's so odd because this lump just popped up over night. I was kissing his face the day before I noticed it and there was nothing there. Maybe I'm a toad and I gave him a wart?

That sounds really strange, poor baby :bigrayz: :bigrayz: I have never heard of or seen a fatty tumour on the face. Fatty tumors don't show up over nite either, they are usually very slow growing....They grow a lot on the chest and hind quarter area. Did they do a dental xray? Are you sure it isn't a abcess? I wish you all the  I have ...do you plan on getting a second opinion? How old is your doxie?
:bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz: For Weenie. Please keep us posted.:hug99:

tons of :bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz: for Weenie!! and a BIG :hug99: for you! Alex is covered with fatty lumps (lipomas) although none on her face. She's got them pretty well everywhere else though...neck, tummy, scapula, chest, armpits (or whatever you call them in dogs LOL), behind her ears, etc. Some of them do really seem to just pop up overnight too, and some of them are HUGE . I used to worry about them, but I had the first few biopsied, and now I recognize 'em when they show up. (I still get vet to check each new one however, just in case, given her history) :crossfin: that that's all it is! Let us know what happens!

Thanks for the info Paula, I didn't know they just popped up....it's funny cuz when people see them they freak out....I tell them no worries they are just like people ...when we get older we get lumps, bumps and spots and so do they....:rotfl:
:bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz: for Weenie! And a :bighug: for worried mama!

Cathleen, Weenie turned 3 on Friday. My dear friend had a 13 year old rat terrier chi mix that would get little bumps all over her. They looked like moles and I was told that they were fatty deposits and dogs tend to get them as they age. What Weenie has does not look like that. The first thing I thought when I saw it was abcess. It dosen't bother him at all though and the vet says thats why he thinks its a fatty deposit?

Jen and Hans fatty tissue lumps ...have never been like moles  Although they do get a lot of moley things as they get older (watch out for the ones that are kinda purplish, get them removed)... your weenie is just a little guy....I will be thinking of you both  ....whatever it is I'm sure he will be fine...he is young and strong :weights_1 Please let me know how everything goes. ...So it looks like a mole????

It doesn't look like a mole at all. I hate to be gross but it looks like a huge blind pimple.
