Thanks Amy, he is on Orbax for his eye so I deceided not to give it this morn--will check with the vet to see if I can give it tonight. I don't want anything to interfere with the anesthesia.

Dropped of the little guy about an hr. ago. He was all excited to go for a ride--that just broke my heart. He had fun barking at all the big dogs at the office they were scarred of him :rotfl: But when I left he wanted to go with me. I can pick him up about 4 she said. Petunia was upset cause I didn't take her. I forgot the paper at home for the neutering so I had to fill them out again. Then I bought a bkf. at McDonalds and choked on my biscuit.....

Awhh, He will be just fine, the boys always seem to come out of the neutering better than some girls do with their spaying,,

I'm gonna give it 15 more minutes then call the vet--haven't heart anything yet. I'm worried cause he is on orbax-which I didn't give today, until I ask the vet. Just hope it doesn't mess up the blood panel. I also signed for laser, hope I did the right thing....I'm funny about medicine I don't like for them to get 2-3 shots or anything at one whack. I'd rather take him/her back a few times.

We're all waiting...doesn't your vet know...we are ALL waiting!! Lots more Gunner :bigrayz: :bigrayz: :bigrayz: - my guess is the vet just got off to a late start, that happened with both of mine. They line up 10 for one day and I have decided they save the cutiest for last, so you know Gunner is going to be at the bottom of the list since he is such a sweetie!

Gunner zoomed right thru it :pray: --I can pick him up in an hr. but I will wait until around 4 to pick him, up when hubby comes home. Vet tech said she had just covered him with his blankie when I called. So thanks everyone for your support--I love all of you :bighug: :hearts:

Thanks everyone--I was worried. As some of you may remember Gunner was one of the dogs that took the dreaded Heartguard shot and I always in the back of my mind worry if he will have any side effects. Once I joined Dodgerslist and another board and heard all the bad news about the shot I stopped giving it, and at about that time it was pulled.

Kim I didn't sleep all night. He kept going to his water bowl and wanted water and it was dry. I felt sooo bad. I'm making him and Petunia chicken and rice with celery and green beans and I'm gonna get some carrots to but in.

WOW lucky guy. That is wonderful they are letting him eat tonight!! Pogo and Pix didn't get anything except an icecube until the next morning....I felt so bad for them.

He is home and wanted to run out in the yard, to bark at his friends, but we are taking him out on a leash. I thought he would come home and sleep but he smelled the chicken and rice with veggies and his nose was up in the air. So I gave him some of it (vet said it was ok) I just couldn't give him a lot. He is all happy to be home, just gave him 1/2 a pain pill with his food. He has to go back in 8 days. I paid $350 for everything--I counted on $500, so I think I got a good deal. I got torbutrol for 2 days-$14.10, Neuter K-9- $64.97, Dental $90.00, Laser Fee-$77.00, Pre-surgical Labwork-$65.00, Subcuticular Sutures $39.00 plus he gets a 8 day check up with that.

He wants more food but I gave him some chicken with broth and rice and the vet said just to give him a little so he will have to wait until morning. Don't want to over feed him. Patt I thought it was a good deal. Most people don't have to do all that, but since he got the Proheart shot when he was younger and had a few health issues, I felt saver doing all that. We had to cancell a few time because he had a immume problem, but he is ok now. His lab work was fine. i got the more expensive lab work done. Vet had 2 different kinds.

Sorry I missed all this...have stayed away from the internet (read DLC :)) today so I could concentrate on writing...you're all SO much more interesting than my stupid research! I'm just glad its over, we were disappointed a few times when we had to cancell the appointments cause of health issues, then it got to the point I was scarred to even make one, hubby didn't even knew I made the appointment until he got home from work he realy didn't want him to be neutered anymore. I just made it on Monday when I took him in for his booster--they would have taken him then but he had eaten already.

Irma, you did everything right getting the dental and all at the same time! You only want them under anesthesia once. I always do the full blood panel too. I am sure Gunner will be fine with half his food portion, if he gets too much he will vomit. I am sure he will sleep good tonight. :hearts:

Thanks Patt--I figure he needed a little food since he hadn't had anything to drink or eat since 9:30 last night, but didn't want him to over eat until everything wears off, I don't know much about the pain pills, so I don't want him to get sick.

sounds like he is doing great :) I remember my boy did a lot better after neutering than my girls did after spaying (Cassie especially had trouble the evening after the procedure).

I think your husband will be glad you did it after all!

The laser causes less pain, bleeding, seals nerve endings, gives quicker recovery. The vet just started doing this a few months back, I read about it in our newspaper and I thought well when we get Gunner neutered, I will pay for that for him. I don't know a lot about it,,,, or neutering, I just know it is an advanced technology, one other vet her in town uses it also. Hubby is doing ok, feels bad for Gunner but I did tell him we would have always blamed our self if Gunner would get some kind of cancer, that we could have prevented, Gunner just had bkfs chicken and rice with broth-gave him his pain pill.. My bosses dog died of cancer he was 10, and the vet said neutering could have prevented that. Vet said neutering also cuts down on the moles and warts dogs get as they get older.

Thanks for the info ...I'll do that....besides all the health issuses related to not altering your babies....it also makes them a much better companion....no more one track mind :rotfl: :rotfl: I would let him do whatever he wants....nueturing them usually doesn't bother them at all ...when we pick the boys up after a procedure they run around and play like nothing ever happened...for the girls its another story, thier surgury is much more complicated. He should be fine....don't worry mama, you did the best thing for him

Actualy Gunner never humped anyone or marked in the house--he did outside but once he was potty trained he never marked. He is a good baby, he was house trained in 2 weeks. I read all these problems people have with marking and potty issues and I can't believe it.
