A few days before Christmas, Pogo had another abscess tooth, and has been on antibiotics. Our vet advised that the tooth now has to come out, so Pogo is going in for a dental on January 18th.

We did a full blood senior wellness screening on him (a senior - eep! when did THAT happen?!?) to make sure he was good to go. Our vet called me early on Saturday morning, and my heart sank, thinking good news sleeps till noon, so this has to be horrible. But it wasn't. Pogo is doing great for his age. All his levels are perfect, except for his phosphorus which slightly (very slightly) below normal, but that could be attributed to the fact I make his food.

So on the 18th, I will be a wreck, but he should be just fine. He is getting a full lube, oil and filter LOL. Dental, nails and anal glands will all be done, so he might be a bit sore from head to toe (literally).

Good wishes to your little guy. It is such a worry whenever our pups have anything medical. He will be sore but fine🐾🐾

I hope Pogo feels much better after the oil/filter/lube job. Which tooth? Hopefully not the biggies up front.

Woot! Great news he is doing well! :cheer3::cheer3::cheer3::cheer3: That is awesome! :bigrayz::bigrayz: for his toofers on the 18th. :hug99:

The senior thing definitely sneaks up on you. Braydi turned 7 on Christmas Eve and Bayley turned 8 on Sunday. We adopted them both when they were 6 months old. Where the heck did the time go???!!!!!

Love our little seniors :love98:.

I think Pogo is doing awesome!! He didn't act any different in Dec than the last time I saw him years ago. Of course he has always been more mature anyway and above all the childish shenanigans of those silly "DOGS" :)
