If you recall, we are working on making sure Peaches will take any ball in Flyball and not get possessive. Well, the plan of action for today was to put her in a crate to wait for her next turn if she wouldn't bring any ball back. I was really nervous about this due to her stress induced colitis. I actually was just going to let it go today.
Well, none of that mattered because Peaches did EVERY run perfect today! I was so proud of her! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
The small dog's role on a flyball team is to be reliable since they could never get the speed of some of the larger dogs. The height of the hurdles depends on the smallest dog on the team. Well, if Peaches was on a team the hurdles would be only 8 inches tall. Major advantage for a border collie and other bigger dogs. So ideally you'd want a really reliable small dog and 3 really fast larger dogs on a team.
Peaches is well on her way to fulfilling her role. I'd like to work on getting her speed up coming back since she pokes around a bit, but for now I am really pleased with her progress! :hula1:
