I started a basic obedience class with Thor last night. It's clicker training and so far he's doing well! He LOVED getting treats - talk about food motivated. I really think he'd have fun doing agility, so we are going to try a beginner's class after this one. Woo hoo! When I got home, I kid you not, Napoleon was pouting because I took Thor somewhere and not him. I tried to do clicker training with him and he was a bit afraid of the clicker! But he did well too. He can do sit and down on hand signals only now. Then we had some Mommy and Po time and I think he forgave me. :rotfl:
Oh yeah, and Thor is not quite as prissy as Po, but I taught him down last night and he will do it instantly if he's on the chair or on a dog bed. But on the floor, forget it! NUT! :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: Miller used to pout when I took Cash to obedience school, too. I'm glad that Thor is food motivated. It makes training sooooo much easier.

That was Maxe...she'd do "down" if she thought the surface was ok to lie on...in fact, she'd even walk over to a carpet or mat and THEN do it! :cheer2: :cheer2: Thor...and Po, don't you get jealous! You too could be an obedience doggy!
Glad to hear training with Thor is going so well! Food motivation sure helps--tho Tasha didn't like the cheap junky treats they had at the class--we had to bring our own.
Its funny about sit/down on bare surfaces. Tasha took a week to sit on the bare kitchen floor and still won't do down on the wood floor!

Yes, Duke's new family picked him up last Thursday and they loved him! I think it is going to work out for him.

We did the clicker training on Gunner and Petunia for potty training and it worked great. We also use ity to teach them a few tricks.
