And it's raining. :sosad: I'm hoping it lets up in the next couple hours. It's only 9 now and the event is 12 - 4. So for now I'm :crossfin::crossfin::crossfin:

The rain stopped and it was a successful (if muddy) event. Sadly, I wasn't very well prepared and forgot to take my camera :wtf2: But we had a good time. There was a good turn out, but not very many costumes. But I was able to reconnect with the woman who fostered Cash. We've kept in touch over the years and it was really good to see her again.

Blue was very good. We really didn't know how he'd do, but he was fine as long as he had a lap to sit on (usually Jim's). I was surprised how calm he was. He did watch the kids if they were in the area, but didn't seem to get upset about them. We did set up our chairs off in a spot where there wasn't a lot of traffic just because we didn't know how he'd do.

Darby was maximum Darby :rotfl::rotfl:

It was a good afternoon despite the rain and mud which made me really glad I have smooth coat dogs.

Did they raise a lot of $$? I had to laugh at Maximum Darby :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: yup, short coats definitely dry faster! Right, Buster?? :rolleyes:

I don't know if they raised a lot of money. I'm thinking they did because the silent auction seemed to be doing really well and there were some other sale items and vendors who kicked back to DREAM. I've decided its best to just go to fundraisers, give money and adopt dogs rather than become too involved with the rescues. There always seems to be too much drama. So I'm hoping they did well.

Darby does tend to be Maximum Darby. He was all over the place. Its held at a woman's house who does cage free boarding and she has a couple acres of land. The back yard is securely fenced and the dogs can go off leash. Darby logged some miles! :rotfl:
