 See what DUCKIE did today with a little help.

When feeding him, I stand him up and place the legs correctly. He stood for 2 minutes.!!!!!!! He is also trying to push himself up. Sure he has a long ways to go and might never make it but he is trying.

Yeah Duckie :hearts: :hearts: As you well know Yolanda they can amaze us everyday!!! He is in the best hands....
We have a little guy (Hans) right now who we are rehabing right now....he had surgery a month ago and the owner paid for the surgery and left him at the animal hospital!!!!! It is such a joy to watch them recover and progress (they are so couragious) ....and then last night a car pulled up to the the woman's house (who rehabs the dogs), unanounced and Hans start barking this high pitched bark of joy....it was the son of the former owner....Sue thought he maybe had a change of heart and was there to pick up Hans.... WRONG!! "Oh we want to see how he is doing , wish we had our camera, he looks so cute in the wheelchair", give him a kiss and left......Hans is now heart broken again...WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? WHO COULD BE SO SELFISH!!!!

Yolanda that's wonderful!  I started Amanda the same way. Standing her up and placing her legs under her. She was never 100% after her back problems, but she could eventually walk and even run a little. But the main thing was that she could get up and get herself out to potty, etc. As long as she could do that, it was fine. Congrats, Duckie! :1jump:

Poor Hans?

So he came by to see how he was doing?

If he was a young son (like 16) and had no say/place of his own/funds to be able to take the dog into his care on his own, I would say he had a good heart for seeing him.

But to "check on him" if he is old enough...I would get in trouble if I was there, because I would tell him he can't have his cake and eat it too. They left the dog, he belongs to the rescue, and he has no right to see him. I am not a hotel. If someone put their child up for adoption, they wouldn't be able to drop in on him and disturb his happy new family life. oooh people make me mad.
