That story was on the website for our local news channel. I could have told them that dogs were magic. I've always known that. Especially dachsies! :D

a lot of them are lonely as well as having health problems. Of course unfortunately some of them can't care for a dog beacuse they are alone and barely can care for themselves. But I had one guy whose dog had recently died... he was telling me how great it was and how much he loved it - and that he would "never, ever have a dog again" because the loss was so painful. I wish he did not feel that way.:(

Nice article, thanks for posting. My aunt had two dogs in her whole life time, I think they helped her live to 92 yrs young.
