Mimi got dropped off this morning for the final treatment for heartworm:sosad: I think this is the one that's gonna hurt, so lots of :bigrayz: for Mimi's speedy recovery and then I have to hurt her again: the big spay.

From what I've read on the heartworm websites provided by Patt, the second doses go deep into the muscle in her back, and that she's going to be very sore from it and I'm not supposed to pick her up.:sosad:

Not to mention....she is given a lot of poison to kill the worms.... and that alone is extremely painful to the body....(that's my understanding anyway)
I've heard this is the last is the worst on also

I pick her up after work today. I didn't realize how much time I spend with her on a daily basis. When she's gone (back to her Mommy), there'll be a big gap left by that little dog.

And once again she's in the kennel, which she really doesn't enjoy but I've got to enforce it. She seems OK, and not acting like she's perky, but just slow. She jumped into the back seat in the truck, and back into the front while I was getting the mail. The bad news is I have to give her back to her Mommy not fixed. The vet told me that I could've had her fixed and then treated the heartworm....NOW he tells me. Her Mommy said she'll fix her, but I would've felt better doing it myself. Maybe I can get her to let me do it for her as an xmas present or something.:scratch:

She'll should be going back to her Mommy in about 45 days. I'm allowed to say where her Mommy is too: the big sandbox Iraq:shocked: She had asked me to keep her longer, but her plans have changed so I think my estimate of our time left is accurate.

Well that's good news that her mom is heading out of the sand pit. Sad that you will have to give her back though.
