Stella Violano, a noted artist from California did a painting of Conchita for me to give to her Mom for the Holidays. Her mom is deployed and I am doing a long term foster. If you go to her web site she has the painting on her main page also. http://smvstudio.com/

Oh Yolanda! That is such a great picture and a wonderful idea! My husband probably would've cried if he had received a picture of Bella like that while he was over in the sand box!

That is just beautiful, and so thoughtful. And kind of you to foster her pup while she's deployed. I bet she will love it...

Having 2 kids in the Air Force I know she will love:hearts: it. Maybe you should sent her a picture of it and keep the painting until she gets home so it doesn't get ruined.

I think she has a thing for dachshunds!!!

I :love5: her work!! Its too bad the dachsie with the pumpkin is sold...I would have snatched it up in a heartbeat!

The really cool thing is that I did not ask Stella to do it. I wrote her and thanked her doing the latest DRNA E-Bay raffle and mentioned I was doing "foster care' and sent her the pictures. Two days later, I get that wonderful e-mail surprise.

Stella,

Does great work and always give at rescues especial dachshunds and dalmations donations.

However, she is expensive. I don't think I could aford to buy her work outright.
