I hope it's ok to post these here~! This was at a show back in June. We went to a show this last weekend, and had a BLAST. He is a wonderful agility dog. (Who needs a better handler!!! LOL)

I always wondered why we've never knocked a bar- now I know LOL.

He jumps at 16", but actually clears the 24" mark with ease. I also loves that he commits to his jumps so early- it gives me time to make better decisions about the next obstacle!

So cool! I would one day like to get Rigby or Mr. B into agility- it's such a neat thing to do.

I love his big fluffy legs- so cute!

Uh sure LOL.

Here's Ollie's story:

He is a rescue that always looked like a fluff ball- till one day I had him groomed. I'd wanted him shaved all the way down, but when the groomer got "half way finished" she realized he looked like a schnauzer and decided to take a chance and leave him that way to see if I liked it. Well, I did! I loved it!

Back then we were just doing USDAA agility, since I really had no knowledge of the AKC ILP. About 2 days after he was groomed, we went to a USDAA trial where we met some schnauzer people. They insisted that I try to get him ILP'd so he could do obedience and AKC agility. I figured I had nothing to loose, so I sent his photos into AKC. He was given an ILP right away. I was surprised!

I've had a couple of sour grape people who think it's wrong that he has an ILP, and even one who really made a stink. He certainly is not the ideal schnauzer, but his photos passed AKC's standards, so I'm not complaining.

Most people are very good and supportive about Ollie. He is an awesome agility dog and is a wonderful obedience partner, no matter what his pedigree is. My problem is that I always feel a need to explain his ILP LOL.:duh: :duh:

I always wondered about the ILP'd dogs (I don't do AKC agility cuz my best agility friends have mixed breed dogs...) and if people were weird about it....I know a very obvious mix...looks like a spaniel/pom mix that is ILP'd as a papillon!!!!! and my friend Debbie with her doxie Hope tried to get Hope ILP'd as a dachshund (she's not AKC registered) and she got turned down! Hope IS a dachshund (met her parents) but has a wierd short snout. I think it's ridiculous that AKC won't have a special registry for agility/obedience that doesn't require you to pretend they are a purebred. UKC does...in fact Laika (although she is AKC registered) has a UKC LP number (it's easier).
I love the pics. Agility is the best fun!!!!

Oh gosh don't I know it! There is a dog that I know of that is about 80 pounds and looks like a swissie, who is ILP'd as an Aussie.

And there are tons of other examples. I do think that AKC should have a seperate section of registeries for mixes. Seems like a win-win situation. I just want to have fun with my dog, you know?

Yeah...to me agility is all about fun...although I do admit I can get a little competative.... That's why I love CPE...all dogs allowed, people are more laid back for the most part...it's do-able for most breeds and they ways to make sure almost all people and dogs can participate. AND I can jump my doxies at 8 inches. I could jump them at 4 if I wanted cuz they have an early veterans category that includes doxies. Not that mine need that....Owen's like your Ollie-he jumps at least 16 inches over an 8 inch jump. OUr theory is that he doesn't want to knock his...um...peenie on the bar and like many men, is overestimating its size.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

A LITTLE competetive?? I can get competetive too. I'm not hard on Ollie, I'm very hard on me. He's awesome, I however, need work LOL. I wish I could get a handler for him, but I'm too competetive for that too LOL. MY dog, MY course LOL

Great picture!! It's SO great when they are having fun. That is really what it's all about.

I wish we had CPE trials down here. Even USDAA shows are at a minimum now. There are other venues, but very rare. I wish it'd grow down here!

Great pics!!!!!! Glad you posted them!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

As for the people who make a stink about doing agility with purebreds only......ask them if they can prove that they only have one nationality in their family history????
