Killing or limiting the amount of dogs is not going to eliminate rabies. :duh:

:sosad: Unfotunately moving is probably not an option in that country. They need a law for all dogs to be vaccinated against rabies.

I don't believe they do anything the easy way, most support the brutal killings of dogs. See the last sentence in the article. "But many people supported the move (killing), saying it was the only way to contain the disease".

In one county in the southwestern province of Yunnan, where three people had died of rabies, authorities killed 50,000 dogs, many of them beaten to death in front of their owners.

That just makes me sick to my stomach. If you feel this is the only way to control something, at least do it humanely. I know they probably don't have the resources for the shots, that's why they are killing them in the first place...but there are other ways.

Lots of cities in the "good ole USA" put a limit on how many dogs and cats you can have. In Norfolk, you could only have 4 dogs and 4 cats, I'm a lawbreaker no matter where I go.

China has WAY too much government intervention in the citizen's lives to me. I feel very sorry for the people who have to live in that environment. Very little freedom of choice or control of your own life. :sosad:
