That squirrel looks diseased. I would have never let my dogs near it. I hope she does not pick anything up!

I would be so afraid it may carry some disease....I know I'm over protective ...but I can't see myself allowing my dog to mouth a wild animal....I know it's thier nature....but, yuck!

A squirrel playing possum- interesting. I think I'd would have been freaked out a little if one of my kids brought home a squirrel. Ace brings home dead mice all the time. Yucky Poo!!

Is this the same fried squirrel? Are you telling us that after all that time, it then got up and RAN away????????

I hope it isn't the same fried squirrel, otherwise you've got the start of a pretty good Zombie movie on your hands. If your dog starts licking your head trying to get at your brains, you might have trouble.
I was hoping it "ran away" in the same way that "Rover went to live on a farm" type of euphimism.

That's a relief. For a minute I thought you might have to deal with Zombie Squirrel who'd be attacking mankind for his nutz.

I"m glad I didn't get in on this one earlier. I thought you literally meant "it ran away". The Case of the Zombie Squirrel. I've had Cash bring me dead critters which I immediately took away from him and threw in the trash. No telling what diseases the carry.

All I can say about all of this is.... "glad it wasn't my kiddos bringing home a dead squirrel!!!"

Ewwww. Ok, sniffing is one thing but I'd worry about diseases/parasites from her carrying it around. Seriously. Next time bury it deep or put it in the trash can please!

i'm so confused! I just realized that she didn't catch the squirrel and kill it. I just saw the other posting that the squirrel got electrocuted.

WELL ANYWAY, about 6 days later i've figured it out, haha! joke's on me!
