Default Anyone try those cow/pig hooves

Have you ever bought those cow or pig hooves they sell for the dogs to chew on,,, UGHHHH,,, I bought two of them a few weeks ago just to see how the dogs reacted to them, the guy at the feed store said they just love to chew on them,,

They smell like P**P!!!!!, OMG, they are the most awful thing I have smelled before, they are way worse than the smell from the bully sticks,,,

I threw them out after a few hours and I just could not stand my house smelling like P**P anymore, and poor Heidi and Princess just followed me along to the garbage can and wondered what in the heck I was doing with their chewys.. They had this look on their face like "God MOM!!, what did you go and do that for!!!"

These things are so so gross!!!!!

Gross is right, I had NO idea these things smelled like that,, although, I should have figured if the hooves are walking around all day in P**P, then they are probably are going to smell like p**P, They did not smell like that when I bought them, but once the dogs start chewing on them OMG,, the smell starts wafting through the house, i even had to take out the garbage cause it was coming up through the can!!!!!!

After the Greenie situation, Trix gets C.E.T. Chews only. See Rawhide, cowhooves in the middle of this link.

They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon

Oh Yeah! We tried the Cow hooves on Casey. We bought 2 of them. He nibbled a bit and left it, nibbled a bit and left it. This went on for about 2 weeks. The smell! WHOA!

I put them away in a ZIPLOCK baggie and gave them to my son to give to his Pit Bull. It didn't even last a Day! Chomp! Chomp! Gone!

You think they smell before they eat them? Try to sleep with the weapon of ass destruction pointed at you after they've been eaten.

    You're brave! I haven't given him those and I don't think he'll ever get a bully stick.
