How sad...
for all the little ones crossing the bridge......
I hope the fire fighter who helped recovers.

I think that that shelter is one that handles a lot of doxies, too. As sad as I am about the loss of the cats, I am truely grateful that the dogs were spared.
What really surprises me is that there was nothing at all on the news about it down here.
Prayers and for the lost ones, especially the kitties.
They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon

It so sad.
But thankfully many of the animals were saved (most of the dogs and some cats too). The fire happened early Saturday morning and by last evening they already had $30,000 raised in donations to help.
