    Default Flea season?

All the vet's have signs stating it's flea season. Well, I don't normally think twice about it as we have Cricket on preventative.

However, our yard is RIDDLED with them now - this is a first since we moved into our home in Dec 02. We did the anti earth/anti environment thing and bought Scott's yard bug killer. I spread it out this past week in the back yard and it seems to have worked. But now our front yard is riddled with them. I guess they hopped the fence. I'll be doing the front yard today.

Are any of you experiencing a higher than average flea problem?

Yes, but it happened about a month ago, I think...maybe 2 months ago in my yard. My cat furniture was FILTHY with the buggers. I sprayed an organic product from Sergent's on it all and haven't had a recurrence yet. Washed Austin and managed to get a fat one stuck under my fingernail (gross) and he had advantage on prior to that. (it had been just about a month though)

When I use to live at the beach they were every where.
But I don't have them where I live now....probably to hot...the fleas are smarter than the people that live in this insane heat w/ zero moisture

Hmmmm. . . I haven't seen any yet. I have noticed the dogs scratching a little but haven't seen any fleas on them yet. Might be time to do some spraying and bomb the house. Last year I kept putting it off and was sitting in the garage in the July heat with 5 dogs for 3 or 4 hours (whatever it took for the bombs to work and then to air out the house). It was awful. I"m doing it earlier this year so it won't be so hot and I can just hang out with the doglets in the back yard.

Patrice - what bombs do you use?

We are not having a "problem" yet but I have seen a few on the foster dogs. And with our yard, it is always a battle. Our yard is very shady with lots of foliage along the fenceline. Perfect for fleas. Add to this the fact that our drought is officially over - it has been raining for days - and I am sure the fleas are having fiestas out there. I actually went and bought nematodes today and sprayed the yard tonight. Cross your fingers that it works!! I hate the buggers!
