SO offended

My principal asked me if I thought of any ideas for decorating the nursery in the new house. I said that I haven't decided, but I will probably go with a puppy theme, since I love dogs. She said, "OH GOD. Please don't tell me you're going to paint those ugly dogs all over your baby's room!" referring to the dachshunds.

I said, "Well, it probably won't be a dachshund theme, since I can't find crib sets with just dachsies on them" (trying to stay calm because she IS the boss) and she said, "That's because there's probably not a whole lot of people out there who would want that!"

She's the type of person that says things in jest that wouldn't bother her if said to her, as she's not sensitive at all, but I thought it was really mean. She managed to insult two things I take a lot of pride in- my painting and my dachshunds. And she LIKES me! Imagine being on her bad side!

So I had to vent to people I knew would understand. And for the record, my dogs, and my dog drawings, are not UGLY.

What a witch, that was very rude!!:mad2: They do have the doxie fabric, the background is black but each doxie is wearing a multi colored (primary colors) little jacket. Maybe you could do the curtains, blanket, and crib pads in that and get the sheets in solid colors.

It's funny, because my sister and I were talking about having that exact fabric made into the crib set! LOL. I was hoping to find a lighter colored dachsie pattern, though.

Ugh, that would have been major no bueno for me, because I am number one ace champion at NOT being able to hold my tounge. I prob would have said something like,

"Well, listen, I understand that you think dachshunds are ugly, but, see, I think that the blouse you are wearing is HEINOUS, and you don't hear ME telling you that, now do you? It's called couth."

What is wrong with people?! I don't blame you for being steamed...I'm not sure I could have held my tongue. I work around scientists all day that think I am absolutely insane for my love of animals and constantly make fun of the pics of my dogs and cats all over my office (I have more of my fur-kids than I do of my own hubby!). Animal-lovers are the best people...everyone else can just go scratch. :banana:
