    Possibly kennel cough?
They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon

After starting antibiotics there is actually no point of taking x-rayz. If it was pneumonia, it should start clearing up after a few days and x-rayz won't show much conclusive. I believe it is 2 weeks of antibiotics vets usually prescribe for pneumonia. And they'd still put her on Clavamox. Just would have been nice to know for sure what they are dealing with. How long is Peaches on Clavamox?

It could be or it could just be an upper respiratory. Hopefully, that's what it is and it will be easily cleared up by the antibiotic. When I boarded my dogs a few years ago, Cash came home with a cough and I thought "Good Lord, he has kennel cough" but when I took him to the vet it was and upper respiratory infection and he was fine in a few days. Luckily, none of the other dogs contracted it.

Yes Patt, the vet thinks it is possibly kennel cough. The vet did something with her neck that she said if Peaches had kennel cough she would probably cough, and Peaches didn’t cough. So, I guess it is not certain but likely.

Olga- She is on Clavamox for 10 days. If the cough doesn’t calm down in a couple of days, I am supposed to come back and get a cough suppressant in addition to the clavamox. They didn’t tell me the name of it.

Agh...one more dog one our flyball team has the same thing. So, it was definitely picked up at our tournament on the 8th and 9th.

Hopefully it's a little bug that will clear up with the clavomax (sp?).
