Thanks so much for the tip on the sugarwater, ice-cream & pedialyte ice chips, Doxiemommy 3! If he should ever get this way again ( heaven forbid!) i'll know what to do to make it better! Thanks so much!

Glad he is ok. If he has it again I would have my vet do a blood panel-he might needto be on a daily medicine. There are a lot of tests that they can run besides just doing a check up.

ITA If it happens again, he does need a complete physical, a basic battery of blood tests, and an electrocardiogram (EKG). These tests rule out disorders of the liver, kidneys, heart, electrolytes, and blood sugar level.

It's quite possible this is the first and last seizure that Bob Barker will ever have, if that's what it was. So try not to worry about it.

When my cat has a seizure, I use Karo syrup.
They may be small, but you should see their hearts. Shelter/Rescue dogs aren't broken. They've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write. The ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter/rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness on your side. Anon
